Medication Compliance

What Does Medication Compliance Mean?

Medication compliance refers to the action of taking medication as prescribed with no variations. Many people have a basic idea of how a medication works or they know how it makes them feel. Because of this sometimes people will change the way they take their medication. This causes many problems as noncompliance with prescribed medication changes the way that it works. This can potentially give false data to the prescribing doctor. It may seem that a medication does not work when in reality simple changes to a medication routine such as the time you take it, the amount you take, and the frequency you take it can change the effects of the medication. When taking medication it is of vital importance that you follow the prescribing doctors instructions as closely as possible.
